We invite you to participate in FoWoS 2026, a conference dedicated to an interdisciplinary perspective on forest and wood sciences and their role in sustainable development.
The event brings together technological, environmental, and social viewpoints, creating a space for dialogue among researchers, practitioners, designers, and policymakers.
Forest Ecology & Biodiversity
Topics covered include biodiversity, close to nature forestry, threats to stand stability, and ecosystem functions such as water retention, carbon cycling, and soil protection. Discussions in this area will facilitate the exchange of experiences regarding sustainable forest management and environmental protection.
Wood Industry & Sustainable Wood Engineering
This block is dedicated to innovations in the wood industry and natural resource management. It covers new wood-based materials, intelligent wood structures, digital furniture design technologies, and strategies for sustainable forest use. Sessions will also focus on
science-industry collaboration and the implementation of solutions supporting the circular economy.
Society, Culture & Education
Highlighting the importance of forests and wood in social, cultural, and educational life. Issues addressed include the cultural heritage of wood, environmental education, public participation in forest management, and the role of wood in a low-carbon economy. Discussions aim to demonstrate how science and innovation can support sustainable development and societal well-being.
