We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the International Conference From Stage to State: Grassroots Culture, Arts, and Cultural Spaces for Political Participation and Expression in a Resilient Europe, which will take place on 9–11 June 2026 at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. Organised within the Horizon Europe - funded Democracy in Action project, this interdisciplinary conference brings together researchers, cultural policy experts, cultural managers, practitioners, and artists to explore how artistic and cultural practices - particularly grassroots and community-based initiatives - shape democratic participation, civic empowerment, and social cohesion across Europe and beyond. We warmly encourage submissions from scholars working in cultural management, cultural policy, cultural trends, sociology of culture, arts management, political participation, and related fields, as well as from those engaged in practice-based and artistic research.
